Thanks for your interest in our Am Staffs! It's always best to contact us directly about out current availability and upcoming breeding plans. Homes must complete our puppy application. Once approved, you'll be given the option to place a deposit.
We maintain a waitlist. It is not uncommon for homes to wait a bit for one of our puppies. Litters sometimes reserve quickly or before birth. We're not a large volume breeder and do not have puppies available more than once or twice a year. We strongly believe in quality over quantity.
Puppies start at $2500. Co-own pricing based on terms and goals. Prices vary between kennels and other breeders' lines; our prices reflect the quality of our Am Staffs and extra attention poured into our program. Prices are non-negotiable. Ear cropping and transportation fees will apply and may vary.
The deposit to join our waitlist is $500. The deposit is voluntary, non-refundable and transferable between litters. This deposit guarantees your place in the puppy selection order; pet puppies are chosen in the order deposits are received. This deposit is applied to the final balance.
Our dogs are health tested prior to any breedings. Genetic health tests include heart, hip, elbow, patella, thyroid, eyes, Cerebellar Ataxia and more. AKC DNA profile, Embark health panel and color testing is also completed. These results help us determine the best breeding options for the future.
We do not charge extra or breed for specific colors. While color is not a primary focus here, our lines produce mostly red and fawn dogs. Markings can vary between every litter and each individual puppy. We occasionally have black, brindle and blue fawn puppies available.
Puppies are evaluated and selected no sooner than eight weeks of age. We assist our homes in choosing the right puppy for their family's needs and overall lifestyle. Puppies are not selected solely based on color or markings as this is the least important factor in proper placement.
We offer a number of transportation options. Personal delivery and flight nanny services are available. Homes are strongly encouraged to pick their puppy up from us in person whenever possible. Air cargo is no longer a stateside option for this breed. Worldwide shipping can be arranged.
We do not encourage littermates or puppies close in age to be placed together. The risk of puppies developing poor behavioral habits can be higher when raised together. We feel it is always best to focus on developing one Am Staff puppy successfully before adding another.
Puppies are sent home with AKC registration, age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, microchip, health clearance, Embark results and a custom puppy pack. Homes will receive a goodie box filled with our favorite toys, products and essentials. Pups also come with a lifetime of breeder support.
Pet puppies are sold on spay or neuter contract and must be altered at an appropriate, healthy age. Show and breeding potential puppies are available for co-ownership. Co-owned dogs are not considered breeding quality until all appropriate health testing and title requirements have been passed and met.
All owners will be required to sign our purchase agreement. Pet puppies are placed on spay or neuter contract. Show and breeding homes must agree to our co-ownership terms. A copy of our contract will be supplied for review during the application process.
Inquiring homes are welcome to visit and meet our dogs. For the health and safety of our animals and their environment, we do not allow outside pets to attend these visits. Children and family members are always welcome. We are willing to travel within reasonable distance to meet with deposit committed families.
For the health and security of our dogs, home and family members, we have limited puppy visits at this time. Exceptions are made for socialization purposes. Owners are provided weekly photo and video content and growth updates. We can also schedule video chats with the puppies in real time.
While the majority of our Am Staffs coexist well in multi-dog and mixed species homes, some will thrive best in a single dog household. This breed can exhibit dog selectiveness or aggression, same-sex aggression and varying levels of prey drive. Proper, ongoing socialization is very important. Please only consider an Am Staff if you are willing to handle the breed traits that may come with owning one.
This breed makes wonderful companions for families with children. Pups and children should both be shown and taught clear boundaries; constant supervision is a must. Am Staffs are often energetic and can be unknowingly rough as pups. With proper training and socialization they can become well-mannered companions for children of all ages.
Am Staffs are energetic, fun loving and incredibly loyal companions. They are versatile, forever by your side and always up for an adventure! Terriers can be stubborn, feisty and tenacious. Am Staffs do best with confident owners who understand and respect their needs. They require training, a consistent routine, room to exercise and ongoing socialization. Am Staffs may not be the best choice for inexperienced or first time dog owners.
